Overview

ETHGlobal Unite DeFi 2025 was a virtual hackathon hosted by ETHGlobal in collaboration with 1inch, running from July 25 – August 6, 2025. The event gathered 1,034 hackers from 85 countries, producing an impressive 403 projects across multiple DeFi-focused tracks.

This was first solo builder attempt hackathon (after previously working on team projects), and despite everyone could form teams here, it is worth to share that WiseOne result project reached the Finalist stage securing 1st Place in the API Track 🏆.

Focused on pushing the boundaries of decentralized finance (DeFi), the event brought together builders from around the world to experiment with interoperability, cross-chain trading, and innovative dApp design.

Theme: Interoperability at the Core of DeFi

The central challenge was to design application that seamlessly bridge multiple blockchains while

leveraging 1inch’s API and Fusion+ protocols. Projects were encouraged to focus on usability,

composability, and unlocking new trading mechanics.

WiseOne entered under the API Track, where projects had to build dApps or services showcasing real-world

integrations of 1inch APIs. Final project secured 1st Place, standing out for its creativity and implementation.

Takeaway: ETHGlobal Unite DeFi 2025 proved that even as a solo builder, it’s possible to stand out among 1,000+ global participants, secure wins, and gain recognition in one of the biggest DeFi hackathons of the years. X (formerly Twitter)+71inch Blog+7ETHGlobal+7.

Problem It Solves

Traditional DeFi workflows often require multiple discrete steps across protocols (like moving from Aave to Compound), introducing unnecessary friction, cost, and risk: e.g., repay debt, withdraw collateral, swap tokens, deposit, borrow each as a separate transaction with its own failure potential and gas cost

Note: similar features could be rolled out for WiseOne dashboard to be aggregator and one-stop service for managing your portfolio on other protocols all gathered in one dashboard.
